Sam's Soul Children

Last night I attended the George Stevens Academy annual spring concert. It was nice to listen to all the hard working music groups. During this concert, all the seniors are honored and it was hard for me to believe who is graduating in a couple weeks – they still seem like freshman to me.

Tonight, the GSA ensemble, Sam’s Soul Children, will be featured on Friday Night Live Jazz tonight with Rich Tozier on MPBN (Maine Public Broadcasting Network). My sister plays tenor saxophone in this group so I will be traveling to Bangor tonight so I can listen to it live. The show is from 9-11pm and they will be playing pieces from their repertoire.

This group is extremely talented. They won the state jazz competition and placed third in the national Berklee College of Music festival. I definitely suggest a listen!
