Little Trisha Crawled Up
- Get your rugged boots out and get ready to go outside to shovel -- no one wants to be literally snowed inside
- Invest in a quality shovel. Metal is the best for the potential ice.
- Make sure you save plenty of water in case of a power outage – the last thing you need is no water for days.
- Who cares if you are too old for playing in the snow? Go out and build a snow fort or snowman.
- Make sure you stock up on food considering you never know when you will be able to make it to the grocery store again (for me, it is roughly a 15 minute drive).
- Get your flashlights out ahead of time in case there is a power outage during the night.
- Invest in a wood stove because they are reliable in any situation.
- Bring out your board games.
- Make sure your windshield wipers are vertical so they are not at risk of getting damaged from freezing to the windshield.
- Take walks outside. This is a great opportunity to get some exercise in.
- Make sure you stock up on salt and gravel to ensure your driveway is not slippery.
- GET SNOW TIRES, GET SNOW TIRES, GET SNOW TIRES!
I have been snowed in many times. Sometimes we lose electricity or sometimes the roads are just too slippery to leave. Snow storms can be extremely dangerous and at times boring. I hope someone can take my advice. If you have any other suggestions, I am sure many people can find them useful and I would love to hear them. Stay safe!
