Black Bear Man

One of my customers is the cutest with his hobby.  Every day he sits out bread for these black bears which visit his backyard.   He has been doing this for years.  A variety of bears sometimes in packs, sometimes a mother and cub and sometimes just a male.  For the last few days, a young male has been visiting.  Yesterday, he brought in a couple photos he has taken in the past month.  I wish I could have scanned them and posted them.
I just wonder how you can not be scared.  He says he remains on the porch at all times but what happens if he decides to not feed the bear one day?  Wouldn’t you think it would attack?  Reminds me of that movie Grizzly Man when a man gets killed from a bear which he thought was his friend.  Not saying this will happen considering Timothy Treadwell (Grizzly Man) lived in the wilderness with the bears and this man lives at his house.  But, this kind of thing happens when humans become too nice to animals.  Thoughts?

Creative Cravings

There are so many things I have yet to take advantage of here. One of them would definitely be the art galleries and exhibits around. There are way more than we all believe. Every couple of miles, there is a small exhibit we usually overlook. I noticed this a few days ago when I was taking leisure ride and saw a Native American Arts sign on the side of the road. When does anyone just randomly pull over and view the gallery? Um… we don’t. With such a busy world we live in, we never just randomly stop and check things out for the fun of it.

I have only been in the Liros and Leighton Gallery in the Blue Hill town.

The Liros Gallery also does art restoration and custom framing which I think is pretty interesting. They have European paintings to icons to Japanese prints. Who would have thought there is a place in Blue Hill which offers this kind of art? Here is a piece from their website which reminds me of my art history class days. Even though Madonna and Child scenes make me sick, I enjoy this one.

The Leighton Gallery features a rotation of artists which changes every few months. They have more sculptures than Liros does. Again, there are so many things I have yet to explore such as their sculpture garden which I have never seen.

I need to check these galleries out again and find some hidden gems around the peninsula. For more information follow the links:

'Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans"

The Beatles are one of my favorite bands.  Tonight my boyfriend is bringing me to a tribute concert tonight at the Bangor Waterfront.  The Bangor Symphony Orcehstra will be performing with the tribute group from Las Vegas called Yesterday

The tickets range from $28-$52 and the concert is at 5pm.  I AM SO EXCITED!  Hopefully they do a good job covering their songs because I have high expectations.
